How Your Nominee Has Shown Leadership Successfully Implementing Technology into Instruction?

Marco Loche is the General Manager (CEO) and Technical Director (CTO) of Capturator. He is an active member of the Moodle community and a supporter of open-source and free technologies.

At Capturator he has always thought about technology as a way for enhancing education. At Capturator, during the last ten years and together with his partners, Marco has translated his vision into the CaLoGE project, an authoring software specifically adapted for language learning. The software is based on Java (J2SE), and allows to prepare, manage, generate and package contents independently from the software environment in which they will be used. The software enables thus to manage the entire life cycle of contents independently from technological evolution.

Marco collaborates with my Department to install and implement software for e-learning language courses.  Contents for language learning produced by Marco Loche’s company are compatible with all existing operative systems (Linux, MacOS, Microsoft Windows) and web navigators (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari). He is a highly competent and reliable person.

He created an authoring software specifically adapted for language learning; he worked on complete language courses for English, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and Chinese and produced  an adaptive language placement test for English based on the Item Response Theory and a system for online tutoring, specifically adapted for Moodle.
