Description: This session identifies ways to
meet the diverse needs of learners in our 21st century classrooms, through the
use of technology. Special attention will be given to the needs of
immigrant youth.
Sarah Thomas has been able to combine her two passions of education and technology, in order to develop several strategies to meet the needs of diverse groups of students. She graduated from Howard University with a Bachelors degree in Television Production and a Masters in Elementary Education, and is currently working on her doctorate at George Mason University in the field of International Education. She is the Technology Coordinator at John Hanson French Immersion School in Oxon Hill, MD.
In this course, Sarah will cover a wide variety of topics, such as video podcasting, digital storytelling, Web 2.0 tools, and several other topics, in order to show educators how to further engage students in the classroom. Teachers and administrators of all levels are welcome to attend. Participants will learn to utilize free and low-cost resources, in order to maximize technology, and address students' multiple intelligences.
