Description: Using just a few basic drawing and editing tools, SketchUp just might become your favorite geometry-teaching tool! This session will cover some fundamentals of 2D geometry, including tessellations with triangles and quadrilaterals, Escher tilings, repeating tiles, symmetry, and fractals. Then we’ll get into 3D geometry: cubes, octahedrons, and tetrahedrons, and how to can manipulate these Platonic solids to form several of the Archimedean solids. And all this without entering a single, actual number!
What to Bring: A wireless laptop with a current browser and the ability to install and run Google SketchUp.
